When the Goin' Gets Tough

When the goin’ gets tough, the tough get Cogmed.
by Rebecca Shafir, Certified Cogmed Coach

As the school year comes to a close and work settles down a bit we have a bit more time to devote to self-improvement, including brain training. Working memory, even more than I.Q, is a strong indicator of academic and career success. The ability to pay attention and concentrate, mentally multi-task, capture information and use that information in solving problems is a weak link in children and adults with ADHD. Even for those without ADHD, working memory is the first cognitive function to break down as we age.  Cogmed Working Memory Training (www.cogmed.com) is backed by peer-reviewed, controlled research done at leading universities around the world and is proven to lead to significant, real life improvements in 80% of users.

Cogmed is a 5 week do-it-at-home computerized program supported with phone coaching by an experienced Certified Cogmed Coach (ours is Rebecca Shafir M.A.CCC). The user must train for 40-45 minutes per session (25 sessions) 5/7 days a week for the five week period. It is fun, intensive and challenging.
If it’s the extra edge you need to improve your performance in school or on the job, Cogmed may be the right tool for you.  Contact Rebecca Shafir for more information at 212.799.7777 ext 116 or via email: becky@hallowellcenter.org
